Krakow, Poland

Hitching our way across Eastern Europe, neither rain, nor sleet, nor sludge, nor spratz keeps us from our digital rounds.
Ahead is the gate to the old town, the Brama Florianska . The name of the City is Krakow. The country is Poland. We have arrived.

This town gate has an interesting legend. It is the only part of the old city walls still in existence. A local lover of historical monuments convinced city planners that the wall would clock the disease-carrying north wind, rescuing the gate from the 19th century destruction of most of the wall.

We enter through the gates, knowing that throughout the centuries this stone has watched royalty, invading armies, intellectuals, poets, and town drunks pass under it's archway.

Inside, we hear music...
